Better Life Therapies is a service offered by the Chrysalis Centre for Change (CCC), a women's mental health and domestic abuse charity based in St Helens, Merseyside.
CCC became a registered charity in January 2007 and has grown exponentially over the last 15 years.We receive hundreds of referrals from the health, social and voluntary sectors as well as many self and word of mouth referrals.
Offering free access to mental health services is extremely important to us as a charity and that will never change. However there are limitations when offering free services in terms of time, resources, availability, convenience and waiting. Due to high demand there is always a waiting list which can be anything from 2 to 8 months at any given time and due to this waiting time we are restricted in how many sessions we can offer each person.
In addition as we are reliant on funding which is restricted and limited we are only able to offer sessions between certain times which isn't always convenient, particularly for people who work. As part of our plan to improve the long-term sustainability of the charity we decided to launch some private services. Better Life Therapies is one of those services and it operates under all the same policies, procedures, guidelines and ethics as all our charitable services.
